Rapper Soulja Boy has issued a public apology for promoting multiple cryptocurrency and non-fungible token projects later identified as scams. Blockchain investigator ZachXBT flagged dozens of these promotions in 2023, noting many projects collapsed shortly after the artist's endorsements.

Between 2021 and 2023, the 'Crank It' performer used his substantial social media following to promote various tokens and NFT collections. In a Monday morning statement on X, Soulja Boy claimed ignorance of the fraudulent nature of these projects, attributing his actions to a lack of understanding about the crypto space during that period.

The rapper, born DeAndre Cortez Way, specifically denied knowledge of involvement with an alleged scammer named Sahil. 'I was doing paid promos without understanding the crypto/NFT space the way I do now,' he stated, positioning himself as a more informed crypto investor today.
